Is the app free to download?
Yes, the Pink Taxi passenger app is completely free to download on both iOS and Android. You only pay for the rides you take.
How long does it take to find a captain?
Typically 3–8 minutes depending on your area and time of day. The app shows you your captain's live location and estimated arrival time immediately after she accepts your request.
Can I schedule a ride in advance?
For guaranteed, scheduled daily rides, a recurring contract is the best option. For one-off advance bookings, scheduled ride options are available in the app's booking flow.
Can I choose a specific captain?
For on-demand rides, a captain is automatically matched by proximity. For recurring contracts, we assign a fixed captain to your route — subject to availability — so your family always knows who to expect.
Can I cancel a ride I've booked?
Yes, you can cancel a ride from within the app. Please cancel as early as possible — a small cancellation fee may apply if you cancel after the captain has already started travelling to your pickup point. Check the app's cancellation policy for current fees.

Is Pink Taxi only for women?
Pink Taxi is designed for women and families. All captains are female. Women travelling alone, women with children, and family groups are all welcome. Children travelling as part of a family school or recurring contract can include both boys and girls.
Are all captains female?
Yes — every captain on the Pink Taxi platform is a verified female driver. This is a core part of our identity and will not change.
How are captains verified?
Every captain goes through a full verification process including ID verification, valid driving licence check, car document review, criminal record check, and Pink Taxi onboarding training before she can accept any rides.
Can men accompany family members?
Pink Taxi is a women-first service. We recommend the service primarily for women travelling alone or with children. For family group rides, please contact our team to discuss specific arrangements.

Is the service available outside Cairo?

Recurring Contracts
What is a recurring contract?
A recurring contract is a pre-arranged, fixed-schedule ride service — weekly or monthly. You set your route and schedule once, and the same dedicated female captain picks you up at the same time every day. It's cheaper than booking individual rides and removes the daily hassle of rebooking.
How much does a recurring contract cost?
Pricing is custom-quoted based on your specific route, number of trips, days per week, and contract duration. Monthly contracts save up to 25% vs. booking daily. Request a quote and our team will send you a tailored price within one business day.
Can I get the same captain every day?
Yes — subject to availability, we assign a dedicated fixed captain subject to availability to each recurring contract. In the rare case she's unavailable, we notify you in advance and provide a vetted replacement.
What if I need to pause or change my contract?
Contact our team via WhatsApp or through the app to adjust your schedule, pause for holidays, or change your route. We handle changes with reasonable advance notice.
Who can set up a recurring contract?
Recurring contracts are available for individuals, families, schools, universities, and companies. Common use cases include school runs, daily commutes, university trips, club runs, corporate female employee transport, and airport transfers. See all contract types.
School & Family Rides
How do I set up a school run contract?
Fill in the school ride request form with your child's school, pickup address, schedule, and number of children. Our team reviews every request personally and contacts you within one business day with a tailored quote and captain match.
Is the captain always the same person for school runs?
We assign a fixed female captain, subject to availability. Your child will quickly come to know and trust their captain. If she's ever unavailable, we notify you in advance.
Can multiple children travel together?
Yes — siblings or neighbouring children can travel together in a carpool arrangement, up to the captain's car capacity. Mention this in the form and we'll factor it into the quote.
Are after-school activities covered too?
Yes — clubs, sports, swimming, ballet, tutoring, and any other regular activity can be included in a recurring children's transport contract. Just describe the full schedule in the form.
Driving Lessons
Who are the driving lessons for?
Driving lessons are available exclusively for girls and women — beginners starting from scratch, or women who already know the basics and want to build confidence. All instructors are female, and the environment is calm, judgment-free, and completely private.
Do I need any prior experience?
No prior experience is needed. We welcome complete beginners as well as women who have some experience and want to reach licence-readiness. Mention your current level in the enquiry form.
How do I book driving lessons?

Are lessons held near my home?
We do our best to match you with an instructor in your area or nearby. Lesson locations are confirmed when you're matched with your instructor.

Who can become a Pink Taxi captain?
Any woman with a valid driving licence, a clean car of an accepted model and year, up-to-date car documents, and a clean criminal record can apply. Requirements focus on your licence, documents, car condition, and background check. See full requirements.
Do I need to own a specific type of car?
You need your own car of an accepted model and year — the car should be clean and in good working condition. Captains use their own personal cars; there is no fleet or lease requirement. Accepted models and minimum year requirements are confirmed during the application process.
Can I set my own working hours?
Yes — Pink Taxi captains are flexible and can set their own working hours and availability. You choose when to go online and when to take breaks.

How is pricing determined?

What payment methods are accepted?
You can pay by cash directly to the captain, or by credit/debit card through the app. Recurring contract holders receive a single monthly invoice — perfect for families and companies.
Are there surge prices at busy times?
Recurring contract holders are never subject to surge pricing — your rate is fixed regardless of time of day or demand. For on-demand rides, pricing is shown transparently in the app before you confirm.
Ride Tracking
Can my family track my ride in real time?
Yes — every trip generates a live tracking link that you can share with anyone. Simply tap "Share trip" in the app and send the link via WhatsApp, SMS, or any messaging app. Anyone with the link can see your live location and estimated arrival.
Do I need an account to track a family member's ride?
No — the live tracking link works in any web browser. The person tracking does not need a Pink Taxi account or the app installed.
For how long is the tracking link active?
The tracking link is active for the duration of the trip. Once the passenger arrives and the trip ends, the live feed stops automatically.
